The Richer The Poorer by Stewart Lansley PAPERBACK 9781447363217

Explore the compelling 200-year history of how Britain has enriched the few at the expense of the poor. This landmark book by Stewart Lansley reveals the mechanisms that link wealth and impoverishment, showcasing how an elite has consistently benefited from rising inequality and mass poverty. Discover the cycle of 'extractive capitalism' that has plagued Britain for centuries, a pattern briefly interrupted only after World War II. The Richer, The Poorer questions why different standards apply to the rich and poor and why social progress has been so unequally distributed. In a time of increasing calls for a fairer society, this book is essential reading for understanding how to break Britain's destructive poverty and inequality cycle. It provides a critical analysis of economic systems and their societal impact.
