You can remove black piece for backset 2-3/8". ( Below picture for your reference) INSTALLATION WAY: First, the interior door knob fit most of door thickness in 1-3/8" - 1-3/4". And confirm the opening direction before installation. Just use screw-driver to tighten the two screws on the rosette. Refunds
