The VELVET UNDERGROUND - COLLECTED (2026) NEW DOUBLE GREEN VINYL LP - Best Of
VELVET UNDERGROUND Collected (Limited Edition 2026 UK/EU 23-track double album 2-LP set pressed on 180-gram Translucent Green Vinyl, individually numbered, limited to 7,500 copies. Collected traces The Velvet Underground's evolution from their formation in New York's underground art scene to some of the most influential recordings in rock history. Lou Reed's literary, rhythm-and-blues-rooted songwriting met Welsh multi-instrumentalist John Cale's appetite for minimalism and distortion, joined by guitarist Sterling Morrison and drummer Maureen Tucker, whose unconventional standing drum style became one of the band's defining sonic traits. Andy Warhol's involvement as manager, and his introduction of Nico into the group, led directly to their landmark debut The Velvet Underground & Nico, represented here by "I'm Waiting For The Man," "Venus In Furs," "Heroin" and "All Tomorrow's Parties." The follow-up, White Light/White Heat, pushed further into raw, chaotic territory, a record Cale himself described as "consciously anti-beauty," before Cale's departure prompted a shift toward the more melodic, introspective songwriting that would go on to define much of Reed's career. Despite limited commercial success during their active years, the band's influence has grown steadily since, and they are now inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This edition is pressed on 180-gram translucent green vinyl, individually numbered from a limited edition of 7,500 copies, housed in a gatefold sleeve with a 4-page booklet of liner notes, plus hype sticker.
