Highly recommended)TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATIONAnimals 2018 Remix 180-gram LP EditionRemixed and remastered by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie GrundmanIncludes 28-page booklet and a gatefold picture sleeveAnimals is a concept album, focusing on the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, and was a change from the style of the band's earlier work. The album was developed from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept which describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, likening the human condition to that of animals. Taking inspiration from George Orwell's Animal Farm, the album depicts the different classes of people as animals with pigs being at the top of the social chain, dropping down to the sheep as the mindless herd following what they are told, with dogs as the business bosses getting fat on the money and power they hold over the other. Although it's been a long time since 1977, the narrative of the album still resonates today as our social and economic situation mirrors that of the time.Animals reached No. 2 in the U.K., and No. 3 in the U.S.. Thanks to the album and the band's back catalog, noted The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums, "Pink Floyd bested Abba for most weeks on chart (in 1977), 108 to 106."NME called Animals "one of the most extreme, relentless, harrowing and downright iconoclastic hunks of music to have been made available this side of the sun," and Melody Maker's Karl Dallas described it as "(an) uncomfortable taste of reality in a medium that has become in recent years, increasingly soporific." Side One1. Pigs on the Wing (Part One)2. Dogs Side Two1. Pigs (Three Different Ones)2. Sheep3. Pigs on the Wing (Part Two)Sony Music Era Overview (Current & Future Releases 2025 -> )From 2025 onwards, all new and reissued Pink Floyd releases in the UK and EU are issued by Sony Music, following the label's acquisition of the band's recorded-music catalogue in late 2024. This transition marks the end of the Warner Music / Parlophone Records era (2016 - 2024) and means all back catalogue titles-including deluxe editions, CD and vinyl reissues-now appear under Sony's Columbia imprint. Any new pressings or special editions from this point forward will reflect this change in label ownership and distribution. With the catalogue now transferred to Sony, all previous Warner-issued pressings are out of print, enhancing their collectability and marking them as part of a distinct phase in the band's release history.Artist - Pink Floyd (click link for complete listing)Title - Animals 2018 Remix (click link for more of the same title)Year of Release - 2025Original Year of Release - 1977Format - vinyl LP album (LP record)Record Label - Columbia Sony MusicCatalogue No - 19075876851 (click link for more)Country of Origin - United Kingdom (UK)Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.Audiophile – This is an Audiophile item.
